Consider the shaded portions of the fluids at P and Q. Then, in a given time
interval, = mass of fluid at P crossing mass of fluid at
Q crossing A2 must be equal, because the same fluid particles keep on moving
in a given tube of flow.
where are volumes of fluids in shaded parts at P and Q of respectively
and are density of fluid at P and Q.
Bernoulli's Equation
The equation of continuity as explained above is a consequence of conservation
of mass; whereas Bernoulli's equation is consequence of the work - energy theorem
or conservation of energy.
