PREFACE
We take great pleasure in presenting this book before
the inquisitive students of European History. The period covered is from
AD 1400 to the present times. The epoch making events discussed here have
contributed in shaping destinies of not just persons but nations!
To give the student a clearer understanding of the past
maps and photographs have been provided. The events that have occurred
in the last half of the 20th century are not analyzed in detail. This
is because these events are still being researched and analyzed by historians
in the light of present developments.
The writer concludes with the hope that this guide will
arouse a keener interest in the student as far as history is concerned.
