Substituting this value of x in (2)
By multiplying both sides by 3, we get
5 (4y + 10) - 9y = 72
20y + 50 - 9y = 72
11y + 50 = 72
Transposing, 11 y = 72 - 50
1 y = 22
y = 2
Inserting y = 2 in (3) , we get
\ x = 6 is the required solution.
