The other choices have been discussed or stated. But they are not the prime points in author’s view. ‘Go to brink’ in not retreating. It means going or moving up to a point. Go does not mean retreat. Hence A is incorrect B, D and E are irrelevant choices. E would make it seem like a contradiction to the given statement that the very nation’s that have produced the weapons are desperately trying not to use them. So they can not be committing suicide! This has been clearly mentioned as an amazing phenomenon this has also been described as silver lining. |
