Table of Contents Chapter 25 Summary On 11th of October, according to Dr. Seward’s Diary, Jonathan asks Dr. Seward to check Mina’s health. Mina begs them to destroy her if by chance she changes totally. Filled with emotion, yet touched by her bravery, the men agree. On 15th of October, according to Jonathan’s journal, they leave Charring Cross on the 12 th , get to Paris in the night, board the Orient Express and reach Varna. Mina is hypnotized. Dracula is still on the sea. The men are preparing all their weapons specially Jonathan, who is sharpening his Kukri knife. Dracula’s ship is late. The men sit down discussing Dracula’s psyche.
The chase is in full speed. Dracula’s character is discussed by the men. Dracula, they claim is a criminal and he is selfish. His intellect is small and his actions are based on selfishness. So he confines himself to one purpose. He had come to London to invade a new land. He was beaten and when all hope of success was lost and his existence in danger, he fled back over the sea, to his home. His selfishness frees Mina’s soul from the terrible power. Her will power and courage has helped her to withstand Dracula’s powers. But the baptism of blood has trapped her unwillingly to Dracula. |
